Role: Technical Assistant Job Type: Full Time (Hybrid) Reporting: CTO (Co-Founder) ABOUT VENDEASE Vendease is an e-procurement platform that allows restaurants in Africa to buy their food supplies directly from farmers and food manufacturers. Having empathy Ownership Being proactive and taking responsibility ABOUT THE ROLE As the Technical Assistant to the CTO at Vendease, you are responsible for ensuring a high level of productivity by planning and overseeing projects from the initial ideation through to completion. You will coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time and provide efficient and responsive support within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives.

Job Details

  • Ensure the CTO is a step ahead of the technology needs of the business, knowledge development and sharing that impact the organisation's strategic focus and impact.
  • Draw up insights around system, human and technical requirements for core banking, blockchain, AI program for competitive edge
  • Drive data driven corporate-wide technology exploitation, improvement, gap closure and adoption, liaising with heads and team leads
  • Research and explore SPV possibility for the technology team
  • Explore opportunities and strategic partnerships that reduces CAPEX and OPEX for the entire organisation
  • Develop high level presentations, technical writings for the CTO
  • Drive risks management and successful implementation of projects
  • Monitor work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
  • Tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources.
  • Manages cross-functional projects of high complexity.
  • Identify, manage and escalate project issues and risks for resolution
  • Budget tracking and analysis
  • Obtain vendor bids, contracting, onboarding and transition management
  • Coordinate and participate in project status meetings. Generate status reports and communicate with the CTO
  • Facilitate decision making by pulling together inputs from leadership and stakeholders.
  • Overall Project tracking and management.
  • Explore speaking and thought leadership engagement for the CTO
  • Manage the EA to the CTO
  • Research new and emerging technologies and companies; for partnerships and acquisition
  • Source strategic hires
  • Responsible for the coordination of  technology-related investor due diligence documentation, regulatory compliance, including system design, solution architecture, patent, data privacy across company products and services

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in the use of project management tools like JIRA & Google Workspace
  • Must be familiar with Project Management; cost control, time, quality, scope, people, communication(written, verbal and presentation) management skills are super important
  • Business sense - has a strong business sense and can decipher priorities and make sound judgement calls when needed.
  • Commitment to excellence - perform duties at the highest level possible on a consistent basis.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • Professional level verbal and written communications skills
  • Must be discrete and maintain confidentiality
  • Must have prior experience in a startup environment

Experience & Education

  • 5+ years proven experience as a System Analyst, Project Manager or a Developer that wants to transition to IT management.
